I recently did a 2 hour pretest lesson with Colm in order to get a fresh perspective on my driving, after completing my 12 EDT lessons and several additional pretest lessons with a different instructor.

Colm came recommended to me by two of my cousins, who credited him with them getting their tests. I found Colm extremely helpful. I told him my particular concerns before we started, and we paid close attention to these aspects of my driving throughout the lesson. Colm had a wealth of knowledge to offer as well as a really encouraging coaching style and a simple, clear method of delivery. The advice he offered me was tailored to what I wanted to address and made very digestible and easy to remember.

He also provided a helpful reflection template at the end, allowing me to jot down what we spoke about and handy pointers I wanted to remember on the day of my test. I would gladly recommend Colm for a pretest lesson, particularly if you feel you would benefit from having a fresh pair of eyes examining your driving ahead of your test. Thanks Colm!

I would highly recommend Colm as a driving instructor. I went to Colm for pre-test lessons and I feel that I passed the test because of his knowledgeable and no-nonsense approach to the driving test as well as driving in general.

He has an extremely calm air and manages to instill confidence. I feel I was a safer and more confident driver after completing only a 2 hour lesson with Colm.

I did a further 2 hour lesson to consolidate my learning on the day of the test and passed due to his expertise!

Unlike other driving instructors who only focus on what gear you should be in, Colm focuses on what frame of mind you should be in. My driving lessons with Colm completely changed my approach to driving. I used to constantly worry about the gear stick and clutch. However, Colm taught me how to calmly approach each driving situation. As a result, there was a massive improvement in my driving. I went from 15 grade 2’s and 1 grade 3 in my first test to just 5 grade 2’s second time round. I highly recommend Colm if you have your test coming up.

I did a course of driving lessons and pretest lessons with Colm. I thought his training was excellent. I was given the chance to become fully comfortable with driving and take it at my own pace. No faults in my driving test and no faults for Colm!

I contacted Colm about converting my Florida Driver License to an Irish License. I had to get approval from the RSA that my US License was valid (which involves contacting the DLV of your state for a record of your driving licence). This allows you to get a Letter of Exemption from the 6-month rule. After that I did my 12 EDT Lessons in 2-hour slots. I found Colm to be very professional and knew exactly what was required for experienced drivers. To be honest, on the day of the test, I found myself to be relaxed thanks to Colm’s teaching skills. If you want a Fast Track Approach you should talk to Colm Branigan. Total time from start to finish 1 month.

I couldn’t have passed my driving test first time without the help of Colm Branigan. I did all my driving lessons and a course of pretest lessons with Colm and passed first time in Finglas! After driving nearly 15 years on the opposite side of the road, under Brazilian traffic rules, I was worried I wouldn’t pass the test. Having a new born baby limited my practicing time, making me feel extra nervous. But I couldn’t have chosen better instructor. I have already recommended Colm as a driving instructor to more than one of my friends and I think that is the best explanation of the fact of how good Colm is in the area of his expertise. I own a BIG thank you to Colm for the coaching approach that he took during my driving lessons with him, Colm helped me to understand the reason behind each of the mistakes and bad habits that I was making during my driving. Colm always left me space for making my own decisions in relation to the next area that I wanted to improve within my driving skills. It took me a couple of years to gather the courage to sit behind the wheel, after a decade-long break. On top of it, having learned to drive on the right side of the road, the idea of driving on the left terrified me. I decided to take a few driving lessons to get over my fear in a safe set up, and to get some practice. The reviews on Colm’s website made my decision to use his services really easy, and now I’m happy to join all the others in recommending Colm as a kind, professional, intuitive, and beautifully skilled driving instructor. If you’ve ever been told that some people just aren’t meant to drive & almost believed it then the best way to prove them wrong is to take a few lessons with Colm. I chose Colm on a friend’s recommendations as I was looking to brush up my driving skills but was kind of wary of driving instructors …. most of whom seem to dismiss anybody who hasn’t practised on their old man’s tractor since the age of three as hopeless & not meant to drive as mentioned earlier. Disclaimer – I’m referring only to my personal experience here! Colm’s style of teaching is especially suitable if you’ve lost faith in your skills and idea of driving induces a panic attack. He made it out not to be a big deal & I believed him when he said it’s possible to teach anybody to drive (which I took to mean he’d seen worse). Colm’s calm and personal yet professional style of teaching is perfect for nervous students. I cannot recommend him highly enough nor thank him enough for changing my life by helping to acquire this basic yet so complicated skill of driving! What’s more Colm has great interpersonal skills and his manner is always professional, friendly, attentive & courteous. I enjoy driving now & looking forward to meeting the “not everybody is meant to drive” guy so I can honk the hell out of him.

I would just like to extend my gratitude to Colm Branigan. I have been driving for many years and picked up a lot of bad habits along the way. He did everything to fit me in and accommodated my needs. On meeting Colm, he was friendly, good mannered and very professional, we started my pre-test with the rules of the road and the road signs, and I hadn’t a clue what any of them were, but Colm kept his cool and reminded me of what they were and also handed me a sheet which turned out to be pivotal in me passing my test. We went through the whole test and he pointed out my mistakes and also my good points. On the day of the test Colm met me at the test centre and we did another pre-test, I got significantly less marks this time which was great, but on his sheet I would have scraped a pass. Colm went through the rules of the road again and the signs and hand signals just before I went in. On completing my test, I found out I PASSED!! And didn’t pick up one mark on the rules of the road and signs. I was needless to say DELIGHTED and it’s all down to Colm’s skills and professionalism as an instructor. The most important factor for me when choosing a driving school was to get a driving instructor with years of experience and a lot of reference clients. Colm is an excellent calm instructor with impeccable driving knowledge that goes beyond anything you will need to pass your driving test. I found his teaching methods to be excellent. I started to panic about my test after taking an appointment with just 5 days’ notice. After reading very good reviews online, I got in touch with Colm and asked for his help. He got back as quick as he could with a time that could suit me and offered me an hour and a half pretest at a very good rate. Within only three double lessons he completely changed my whole style of driving.
